You need RSA typing, shorthand and admin skills to start......





After gaining these qualifications, start at the bottom ( receptionist, admin assistant etc ) and go to night school to learn the rest, during which you are gaining experience in this field, earning money, and maximising your potential.

you can be mine if you want, the only qualification needed is : subserviance.
I'm a PA and it's not a dream job! I went to university and then worked as an administrator in a couple of places, then just worked up. You just need to have good secretarial and organisational skills. You don't necessarily need qualifications, but having a degree has helped me, and it means you can go for the better paid jobs. If you need typing qualifications, look to your local college for night classes.
make sure that you are extremely organised, and that your memory is 100%.


Shorthand, though not always asked for, is a great help to you, if your boss dictates letters as you're typing!


There's also a certain amount of 'yes boss, no boss' involved, so it won't do to be too headstrong.


Mainly do what you do to the very best of your ability, don't answer back, and thank god for payday!

Wow,what a dream? Very inspiring :| no i don't mean to be rude :s, listen i have a secretary,i hired her coz she seems keen to please me in any way, usually common ppl hire the ones who kiss *** ,so simple,,just like being a teacher's pet.
