im adopting a 6 month old purebred male catalan from a shelter and theres not that much info around about the breed - i have read everything i could find online and its not much

Your best bet is to contact members of their National breed club and breeders for first hand information. This is a fairly rare breed, so you landed quite a find.

i'm just wondering...if he's from a shelter, how does the shelter know he's a purebred catalan? They're not all that common, and statistically aren't very likely to end up in a shelter. Do they have a history on him from his previous owner?
